Hall of Graduate Studies, Yale University, 1931

New Haven, Connecticut

The windows in the Hall, designed by G. Owen Bonawit, contain hundreds of magnificent painted medallions, and intricately carved decorative sheet lead overlays. The conservation of these windows involved the removal and repair of the lead overlays, and their reattachment onto the surface of the reconstructed panels. Many of the medallions were damaged and/or missing altogether, and these were conserved or repainted with painstaking accuracy by our staff glass painter.
