These magnificent windows by an unknown studio were suffering from the severe degradation an impending collapse of the wooden tracery. We partnered with a specialized woodworking firm to address the systemic issues in the complicated windows. The glass and lead were suffering stress from the pressure of the weight of the window’s major deflection, but it was caught early enough to avoid wholesale re-leading. With some relocation of original failed support bards and the addition of new structural members, the panels were saved from exacerbated damage. The massive tracery was repaired and reinforced, the panels returned to their openings, and resealed.
