Memorial Continental Hall Library, 1910
Washington, D.C.
The 25 panels in this monumental 60’ x60’ lay light were originally fabricated in zinc. The restoration program switched approaches, and the windows were reconstructed with colonial lead, in profiles matching the original historic material. Many of the thousands of lost or damaged decorative lead rosettes were recast in silicon molds taken from the surviving originals.
